Education Services Specialists offer a wide range of academic advice including how to get started, what school to choose, what program to study, tools to research educational questions, whether or not to use distance learning, financial options, available basic skills courses, and more. Appointments are available throughout the day and walk-ins are always welcome.
Joint Service Transcript (JST) - Formerly SMART
Joint Service Transcript (JST) is an academically accepted record validated by the American Council on Education (ACE). The primary purpose of JST is to assist service members in obtaining college credit for their military experience. Go to www.jst.doded.mil to create an account and look at what may have already been earned. For questions or to report transcript errors, please call the local Education Office.
Navy College Program for Afloat College Education (NCPACE)
Provided by 12 regionally accredited schools, NCPACE allows Marines and Sailors with Type 2 and 4 Unit Identification Code commands to continue their education through distance learning and instructor led classes. Course work is available for undergraduate and graduate degrees and may be transferable through the SOCDNS program. Sailors have first priority and Marines can register for classes when space is available. For more information, visit www.navycollege.navy.mil
Leadership Scholar Program (LSP)
The Leadership Scholar Program (LSP) assists honorably discharging active duty Marines in gaining admission to over 200 universities/colleges around the country. For more information, visit usmc-mccs.org
Military Academic Skills Program (MASP)
The Military Academic Skills Program is available to improve reading, mathematics, communications, and writing skills. The free 3-week course strengthens attendees’ foundations and builds confidence to start a college course or complete required career testing. It can also fulfill requirements for TA participation.
