The School Liaison Program (SLP) focuses its efforts on making transitions for military school age children easier. Through connections with families, schools, commanders, community and installation programs, School Liaisons engage in a system of support on behalf of the military child.
The School Liaison program (SLP) builds bridges for the academic success of military dependent children by obtaining educational information and assistance from local school districts. The School Liaison Officer supports military families by:
- Working with parents to identify barriers to academic success and develop solutions
- Providing parents with the tools needed to overcome obstacles to education that stem from the military lifestyle
- Promoting and educating local communities and schools about the needs of military children
- Providing information on the availability and access of educational services
